Artworks
The website offers original artworks and limited-edition Fine Art prints by Patrick Vandecasteele.
Each original painting is a unique artwork. The photographs and reproductions displayed on the website are intended to represent the artworks as accurately as possible. However, slight differences in colour may occur depending on screen settings, lighting and photographic reproduction.
The essential characteristics of each artwork — including medium, dimensions, year and, where applicable, edition number — are indicated on its product page.
Original artworks are signed by the artist and supplied with a certificate of authenticity.
Limited-edition prints are individually signed and numbered and are also supplied with a certificate of authenticity.
Certificate of Authenticity
Each original artwork is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity issued and signed by Patrick Vandecasteele.
The certificate identifies the artwork and includes its title, year of creation, medium, dimensions and a unique reference.
For Limited Edition Fine Art Prints, the certificate also indicates the edition size and the individual number of the print. Each print is hand-signed and numbered by the artist.
The Certificate of Authenticity forms an important part of the artwork’s provenance and should be kept safely by the purchaser.
In the event of a future transfer or resale of the artwork, the certificate should remain with the work.
Prices
Prices are displayed in euros (€), unless otherwise indicated.
The price applicable is the price displayed on the website at the time the order is placed.
Worldwide shipping is included in the displayed price, unless expressly stated otherwise.
For deliveries outside the European Union, customs duties, import taxes, local taxes or customs clearance fees may be charged by the destination country.
These charges are not included in the purchase price and remain the responsibility of the customer.
Orders
The customer selects the artwork they wish to purchase and follows the online checkout process.
Before confirming the order, the customer is able to review the selected artwork, price, billing and delivery information and correct any errors.
The order becomes final once payment has been successfully completed and the customer has received an order confirmation by email.
Original artworks are unique. Once an original artwork has been sold, it will no longer be available for purchase.
In the exceptional event that an artwork is simultaneously sold through another sales channel before the website inventory has been updated, the customer will be informed immediately and the full amount paid will be refunded.
Payment
Payment is made securely through Stripe using the payment methods offered during checkout.
Payment is due in full at the time the order is placed.
Patrick Vandecasteele does not have access to or store the customer’s full bank card details.
Shipping
Artworks are shipped worldwide.
Original paintings are carefully prepared using museum-quality protective packaging appropriate to the dimensions and characteristics of each artwork.
Shipments are handled by established international carriers such as FedEx, DHL, UPS or an equivalent specialist carrier, depending on the destination and nature of the artwork.
Shipping is included in the purchase price.
The estimated delivery time is generally:
7–10 days after dispatch.
This timeframe is indicative and may vary depending on destination, customs procedures, public holidays or circumstances beyond the seller’s reasonable control.
Tracking information will be provided whenever available.
International Deliveries
Orders shipped outside the European Union may be subject to customs formalities and import duties or taxes upon arrival.
The customer is responsible for complying with the regulations applicable in the destination country and for paying any import duties, taxes or customs clearance charges.
Delays resulting from customs procedures are beyond the seller’s control.
Receipt and Transport Damage
Each artwork is inspected before dispatch and carefully packed.
The customer is invited to inspect the parcel and artwork upon delivery.
If an artwork appears to have been damaged during transport, the customer should contact Patrick Vandecasteele as soon as possible at [email address] and provide photographs of:
- the artwork and the damage;
- the external packaging;
- the internal protective packaging;
- the shipping label.
The customer should retain all packaging until the matter has been resolved.
Where transport damage is confirmed, Patrick Vandecasteele will liaise with the carrier and arrange the appropriate solution in accordance with applicable consumer law.
Right of Withdrawal
Consumers purchasing online have a legal right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of receiving the artwork, without having to provide a reason. economie.gouv.fr
To exercise this right, the customer must clearly notify Patrick Vandecasteele of their decision to withdraw before the expiry of the 14-day period.
The notification may be sent by email to:
or by using the withdrawal form provided below.
After notifying the seller, the customer must return the artwork within 14 days. French consumer guidance confirms both this return period and that direct return costs may be borne by the consumer if they were clearly informed of this before purchase. economie.gouv.fr
The artwork must be returned in its original condition and with all accompanying documents and certificates.
Because artworks require particularly careful handling, the customer is strongly encouraged to use the original protective packaging and a tracked and insured shipping service.
Unless otherwise required by applicable law, the direct cost of returning the artwork is borne by the customer.
Refunds
Following a valid withdrawal, payments received for the returned artwork will be refunded in accordance with applicable consumer law.
The seller may withhold reimbursement until the artwork has been received back or until the customer has supplied evidence that it has been returned, where permitted by applicable law.
The refund will normally be made using the same payment method used for the original transaction, unless otherwise agreed.
The customer may be liable for any diminished value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature and characteristics of the artwork.
Limited Edition Prints
Limited Edition Fine Art Prints are produced in strictly limited quantities as stated on each product page.
Each print is individually numbered and signed by Patrick Vandecasteele.
Once the stated edition has been completed, no additional prints will be produced as part of that edition.
Where an edition includes Artist’s Proofs (AP), these are separate from the numbered commercial edition and will be identified accordingly.
Legal Guarantees
Customers benefit from the mandatory legal guarantees provided by applicable French and European consumer law.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits or excludes any statutory rights or legal guarantees that cannot legally be excluded.
French consumer law requires information about applicable legal guarantees to be provided to consumers before the contract is concluded.
Intellectual Property
Purchasing an original artwork or Limited Edition Print transfers ownership of the physical artwork only.
All intellectual property rights, including copyright and reproduction rights, remain the exclusive property of Patrick Vandecasteele, unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing.
The purchaser may not reproduce, publish, commercially exploit, distribute or create derivative reproductions of the artwork without prior written permission from the artist.

Further information regarding the collection and processing of personal data is available in the website’s Privacy Policy.

Force Majeure
The seller shall not be liable for delays or failure to perform obligations resulting from events beyond their reasonable control, including natural disasters, transport disruptions, strikes, customs delays or other events recognised as force majeure under applicable law.
This provision does not affect the customer’s mandatory statutory rights.
Applicable Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by French law.
For consumers residing within the European Union, this choice of law does not deprive them of any mandatory consumer protection afforded by the law of their country of residence where applicable.
